Peggy Blackwell, age 86, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Asheville, NC Born in Buncombe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alva Roy Watts and the late Bonnie Hyder Watts. She worked for Norfolk Southern Railway Company with 16 years of service alongside her husband, Robert Blackwell, and then retired to Anderson in 1991. Peggy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Dianna Goodman and her husband, Jeffrey, of Asheville, NC; a son, Roy Blackwell and his wife Lisa, of Milton, GA; a sister, Cubby Shepherd, of Anderson, SC; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Rockecharlie. The Cryptside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum on Sunday, October 19, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Mary Teasley officiating.
