Peggy Jo Johnson McCrory, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born February 14, 1941, in Kingsport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Dock Everett Johnson and Erma Lee Williams Johnson. She was married for 53 years to Farrell "Mack" Watson McCrory until his death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Jerry, Jimmy, and Arthur Johnson; and sister, Linda Owens. Peggy Jo loved her family dearly and was forever dedicated to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Tamela Singleton (Barry) and Kimberly Fischer; brothers, Fred, Richard, and Alan Johnson; grandchildren, Alicia Forshee and her son, Hayden, Kelsey Priester (Robert) and their sons, Noah and Grant, Quinten Fischer (Draven) and their daughter, Ophelia, Cortney McCormick (Stephen) and their children Tobin and Lachlan, and Casey Singleton (Cole). The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2023, from 1:00-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Michael Jones and Rev. Philip Blankenship officiating. A committal service will be held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery on February 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621 or the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E Calhoun St, Anderson, SC 29621.
