CHAMBLEEAPRIL 9, 1918 - May 5, 2009ANDERSON, SC ' Mr. Pershing Aubrey Chamblee, age 91, husband of Ida Beth Rainey Chamblee, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at his home, 2014 College Avenue.Born in Anderson, SC on April 9, 1918, he was a son of the late Walter Chamblee and Rosa Lee Chamblee. He was a graduate of Boys' High School and was stationed in Norfolk, VA during World War II. Mr. Chamblee retired as Store Manager from Endicott Johnson and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon and as long as his health permitted, he was a member of the Men's Bible Class.In addition to his wife, Mr. Chamblee is survived by his daughter, Lynn Chamblee Brown, both of the home; his sister, Mildred C. Smith of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren: Russell Brown and Dexter Brown; and three great grandchildren: Matthew Brown, Christian Brown, and Justin Brown.Mr. Chamblee was predeceased by his parents; his brothers: Bill Chamblee and Albert Chamblee; and his sisters: Eva Bolt, Bertha Bradberry, Annie Ruth Grey, Ethel Griffith, and Martha Martin.A Graveside Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at New Silver Brook Cemetery, conducted by the Reverend Dr Dennis Tedder and the Reverend Don Cooke.
