Clyde "Pete" Vernon Wright, 76, of Easley, SC passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at his residence. Born July 27, 1942 in Calhoun Falls, SC, Pete was a son of the late Ralph Grady Wright and Margie Corinne Adams Wright. Pete grew up in the Gluck Mill area of Anderson, SC and graduated from Boys High. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 22 years serving in the Vietnam War retiring as QMCS. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was of the Baptist faith. Pete is survived by his son, Jerry Wright (Glenda) of Easley, SC; daughters, Babette Merck and Margie Hooper (George) both of Liberty, SC; brothers, Jerry Wright of Florida and Tommy Wayne Wright of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Alma Lee Wright. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Wright. A graveside service will be held at New Silver Brook Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 with military honors with visitation following the service.
