Phillip G. Brown, age 65, passed away on August 17, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, SC on September 8, 1950, he was the son of the late Vernon Brown and Florence Booth Brown. He retired from Anderson County Road Maintenance. Phil was a kind man and was known for growing a large garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Terell Brown and David Brown; a step-son, Mark Machen; and a sister, Ann Moore. He is survived by Rebecca McMahan, of the home; four sisters, Margie Swaney (Charles), Jean Kilgore, Lois Williamson (Hurshall), and Aileen Kay (Buddy); one brother, Jim Brown (Pam); a step-daughter, Rhonda Mielke (Brad); two step-sons, Joe Machen (Patty), and Danny Machen; 13 grandchildren, Gage Brown, Amanda Woody, Brenda Mitchell, Chris Kay, Daniel Tilley, Hope Mielke, Joe Machen, Ashley Moon, Erica Martin, Kellie Brown, Melissa Breeding, John Machen, and Tony Machen; 21 great-grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Iva City Cemetery with Reverend Vernon Bagwell officiating. Pallbearers will be Little Joe, Daniel Tilley, Dalton Machen, Tony Machen, Steve Martin, and Matthew Belk.
