PHILIP H. WILSON Philip Howard Wilson, age 73, of 1923 Broadway Lake Road, Anderson, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Warsaw, NY, on March 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Chester Cleon Wilson and the late Vera Estelle Phillips. For 51 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Jill Margo Waite Wilson of the residence. Mr. Wilson was retired after 30 years employment with IBM where he held numerous positions. He served his country in the US National Guard. After retirement from IBM, he moved to Anderson to go into full time ministry with Haven of Rest Ministries. Philip was a fan of Clemson, but his greatest passion, being one who loved God, was serving others. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Belton. In addition to his wife, Jill, Mr. Wilson is survived by 3 sons, Greg Wilson and wife, Eugena, of Kapolei, HI, David Wilson of Wallkill, NY, and Chris Wilson and wife, Maria, of Newton, NC; a daughter, Teresa Alvarez and husband, Jose, of Anderson; a brother, Jerry Wilson of Rochester, NY; 2 sisters, Joyce Strong and husband Jim, of New Albany, OH, and Cindy Blakeslee and husband, Jeff, of Myerstown, PA; 13 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Philip Wilson will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church of Belton, with Rev. Mitch Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
