Phillip Jay Campbell, age 64, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at his home.

Born June 2, 1962, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late William Lee Campbell and Helen Rhodes Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Steve Cleveland.

Phillip was a proud veteran of the United States Army retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major. As a career military man, he carried many of those regimented traits into his everyday life. He was very disciplined and liked things done correctly and orderly. He was affectionately called "Flip" by his family whom he loved so much. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. Phillip had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the lake, Clemson sports, the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children, Casey DeBruine (Ron), Stevie LeClair (Andrew), Rachel Lovinggood (Ben), Mason Campbell (Bleu) and Bobby Lord (Heather); brothers, Victor Campbell (Sandi) and Fred Racey (Lynn); sisters, Lindalee Cleveland and Lisa Taylor (Tony); grandchildren, Avery, Atticus, Memphis, Weston, and Jackson; and step-grandchildren, Kaylin, Collier, Ethan, Katie, and Curtis.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 1:00-2:45 pm at North Anderson Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. The committal with military honors will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 am.
