Phillip Jerald Hunnicutt, age 76, formerly of Meadow Hill Drive in Anderson, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Hart Care Center in Hartwell, GA. Born in Allegheny County, PA, on October 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Melvin Raymond Hunnicutt and the late Louise Buffington Hunnicutt. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. During his career he was employed in textiles, then with Duke Energy. He later retired from Am-Can Transport as a truck driver. Phillip was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra McAdams and her husband Steve, of Townville, SC and Rebecca Hunnicutt, of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years at her death, Nancy Bowen Hunnicutt; a son, Phillip Wayne Hunnicutt and two sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend David Blizzard and Reverend Palmer Keaton officiating. The interment of his ashes will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.
