Phyllis June Estep Costill, age 89, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at her home. Born in Clendenin, West Virginia, on June 21, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Harry Sylvester Estep and Eva Maysel Cook Estep. Phyllis spent her 45-year career caring for others as a Registered Nurse and served as the former Director of Nursing for Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Mississippi. Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Harold Bruce Costill, who preceded her in death. She and Bruce built their retirement home on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, South Carolina, as a sanctuary and gathering place for their large family to create an abundance of lifelong memories. Phyllis is also preceded in death by her four brothers, Kenneth Harold Estep, Arnold Erwin Estep, Shirley Robert Estep, and John Bird. She is survived by her five daughters, Rebecca Leigh Costill of Anderson, South Carolina, Linda Costill Reid (Gene) of Piedmont, South Carolina, Teresa Lynn Costill of Greenville, South Carolina, Laura Costill Davis (Charles Perry) of Hernando, Mississippi, and Kimberly Ann Hellums (Mike) of Oneonta, Alabama; one son, David Allan Costill (Casey) of Greenville, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:30 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home.
