PHYLLIS HEDDEN McINTYRE
February 9, 1950 - October 20, 2012
Phyllis Hedden McIntyre, age 62, of 304 Stonehaven Drive, Anderson, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Clay and the Late Frances Whitten Hedden. For 42 years she was the loving and devoted wife of the Late Larry Ross McIntyre until his death in 2010.
Mrs. McIntyre was a graduate of T. L. Hanna High School, Class of 1968. She was a surgical tech employed by Dr. Vernon Merchant, and later worked in various capacities at Quality Foods. Phyllis was a faithful and devoted member of High Praises Church where she sang in the church choir. She was a volunteer with the Lot Project, which serves food to those in need. In her leisure time, Mrs. McIntyre enjoyed travel and camping with her husband at the beach and Hartwell Lake. She was also an avid golfer.
Survivors include a brother, Joey Hedden and his wife, Debbie, of Anderson; a niece, Georgia DeVore and her husband, Bryan of Anderson; a nephew, Justin Hedden of Anderson; and Annie, her little Shih-Tzu, who was her loyal companion.
A memorial service honoring and celebrating the life of Phyllis McIntyre will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 2 PM at the High Praises Church, with Rev. Chris Sustar and Rev. Ralph Ashley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
The family suggest contributions be made in memory of Mrs. McIntyre to Hospice of the UpState, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or to the Haven of Rest, 219 W. Whitner St., Anderson, SC 29624.
