IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis Grubbs
Morrison
November 20, 1942 – January 14, 2025
Phyllis Grubbs Morrison, age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at NHC Healthcare Anderson.
Born November 20, 1942, in Winston Salem, NC, she was the daughter of the late Obah Dallas Grubbs and Dorothea Cecile Millsaps Grubbs.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She met her loving husband of 58 years while attending Wingate College where she received a secretarial degree. A kind, generous woman, she supported her family while regularly serving her community. She delivered meals for over 40 years with Meals on Wheels and served in many volunteer roles at her children's schools and church. Phyllis was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 40 years where she was a member of the UMW and the Koinonia Sunday School Class. She served in many ministries including visiting church members at long term care centers and working in the nursery. She loved anything chocolate, the Atlanta Braves, and the SC Gamecocks but more than anything, she loved God and family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Carson Morrison, Jr.; sons, Britt Alan Morrison (Tracy) and Jason Lane Morrison (Amanda); 7 grandchildren, Ben Morrison, Caroline Crawford, Hogan Crawford, Elijah Morrison, Isaac Morrison, Gavin Holden and Grace Holden; and 1 great grandchild, Jaxon Morrison.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of NHC Healthcare Anderson and Caris Hospice for the exceptional care provided.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 1:00-2:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm in the Chapel. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
