ANDERSON, SC'Mrs. Phyllis Hale Smith, age 72 wife of Roy L. Smith, Ed. D, of 108 Wren Way, Anderson, SC died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at her residence.Born in Grundy, VA, on March 4, 1933, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Larkin Hale and the late Martha Kaiser Hale. She was a retired educator and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Anderson, SC.Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Roy L. Smith, Ed. D of the home; two daughters, Kristina S. Thomas of Seneca, SC and Jennifer S. Latto of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Carnese Hale of Honea Path, SC; two sisters, Virginia Taylor of Anderson, SC and Lucille Wohlford of Blacksburg, VA; and two grandchildren, Megan Hale Thomas and Elias Avery Latto.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Lacie J. and Billy M. Hale.The family is at the residence.
