Obituary

Pastor Piotr Nestertsov, 68, went home to be with the Lord, on November 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faithfulness, love, and service to God and people. Born on February 12, 1957, to Mikhael and Maria Nestertsov, Piotr grew up in a strong, faith-filled family alongside his siblings Mikhael, Vera, Nadezhda, and Lubov.

On October 15, 1978, Piotr married the love of his life, Nina, and together they walked through 47 years of marriage, ministry, and family. They raised four children — Lina, Lilia, George, and Alex — each carrying his heart and example in their own lives. Piotr also welcomed his sons-in-law Vladimir and Marko, and daughters-in-law Irina and Evans, whom he loved as his own.

He was a proud and joyful grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Timmy, Lucas, Rachael, Vivian, Malania, Audrey, Ezra, Eliana, Selah, Elias, Vincent, Pierce, and Chloe. His grandchildren brought him so much happiness, and he prayed over each one of them often.

Before entering full-time ministry, Piotr worked as a tailor, a craft he loved deeply. His hands were gifted — custom clothing, upholstery, leather work, Bible rebinding, and eventually even handcrafted mattresses known as "Heaven's Mattress." Everything he made carried excellence, creativity, and a personal touch.

In 1992, Piotr was ordained as a pastor in North Port, Florida, and that same year he founded First Slavic Pentecostal Church. In 2005, following the Lord's leading, he started Summer of God Church, where he faithfully pastored for 20 years. He loved people dearly — not just in word, but in action. He shepherded his flock with compassion, patience, and a genuine heart for every person God brought his way.

A lifelong student of Scripture, Piotr earned a Master's in Ministry and a Master's in Theology, continually growing in the Word he so faithfully preached. He was known for his humility, his gentleness, and his deep love for the presence of God. And in the simple parts of life, he loved his coffee and cookies, a small joy that never changed.

On the day the Lord called him home, Piotr passed peacefully in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his children. It was a sacred and tender moment — a reflection of the loving, united family he built.

Pastor Piotr leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured — a legacy of prayer, faith, love, and countless lives changed through his ministry. He will be deeply missed by his family, his church, and everyone who was blessed to know him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 6:00-10:00 pm at Summer of God Slavic Evangelical Church. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 am Summer of God Evangelical Church. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
