R. C. Crocker, age 87, of 202 Hazelwood Avenue, Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 1, 2013, from the Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born in Franklin County, GA, he was the son of the late Robert Matthew Crocker and the late Rosa Belle Goodwin Crocker. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Throughout his life he worked at Equinox Mill, then followed his passion and retired from Howard Baer Trucking Company as a truck driver with over 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of Union Church of God of Prophecy, where he served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his children, David Crocker and his wife, Shirlon, Linda Padgett and Patricia Crocker, all of Anderson; a brother, Billy Ray Crocker of Anderson; a sister, Florine Threlkeld of Anderson; 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Reba Horne Crocker and five sisters.
The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Sara Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
