'Dee' Roberts, age 92, formerly of Acker Road, Anderson, husband of the late Iness Elizabeth Elrod Roberts, took his last breath on Monday, May 08, 2006 and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he had served for over 65 years. Born in Clarkesville, GA on May 21, 1913, Mr. Roberts was a son of the late Jeff David Roberts and Sara Jane Dean Roberts. He was the retired owner of R. D. Roberts Construction Company. He was a member of Anderson First Assembly of God where he formerly served as builder, trustee and deacon.He is survived by his loving family which include his children, Carolyn R. Smith and her husband, Rick, Wilda R. Ethridge, David L. Roberts and his wife, Jimmie Sue, Jack D. Roberts and his wife, Joan, Roy J. Roberts and his wife, Sheila, Sara R. Hawkins and her husband, Joe and Becky R. Berry and her husband, Floyd, all of Anderson and Pam R. Wheeler and her husband, Hal, of Thomson, GA; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Roberts; a daughter, Reba Roberts; two grandsons, Keith Dee Smith and Steven Roberts; one great-granddaughter, Megan Owens; four brothers and four sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Anderson First Assembly of God officiated by the Reverends Sanford M. Jones, George Hopkins and Phillip Sears. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 from 6-8 pm.The family will be at their respective homes.Flowers are optional.
