Racine Erie Webb Owings, age 87, of Belton, SC, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at AnMed Medical Center. Born May 31, 1936, in Belton, she was a daughter of the late Allen Webb and Louise Kelly Webb. She was married for 48 years to Joe Thomas Owings until his death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by three children, Bennett Alan Brooks (Cathy), Sally Moorhead (John), and JoBeth Ouzts (Norman); and brothers, Waymon Webb and Arnold Webb. Racine had many interests in life. She loved her home, rocking on the front porch, flowers, trips to the beach and mountains and any beautiful music, especially old-time gospel, Motown, and Celine Dion. She enjoyed getting together with her classmates and going to class reunions. She also enjoyed her "social hour" on trips to the grocery store. Racine was an avid sports fan, especially of the Atlanta Braves and Clemson Tigers. She loved her family, her church, and the Lord. She was a member of Latimer Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Vicki Miller, Melissa Brooks, Laurie Helman (Joey), Phyllis Emerine, Gloria Ivey (George), Barbara Lanier (Alton), and Steve Owings (Margaret); brother, Harold Webb (Jean); sisters, Rhetta Cothran (Jim) and Letha Gambrell (Larry); 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, September 15, 2023, from 12:30-2:00 pm at Latimer Memorial United Methodist Church. A private family graveside service will be held at Garden of Memories.
