RALPH KNOX May 20, 1922 - November 25, 2008WILLIAMSTON, SCMr. Ralph Morris Knox, age 86 of 114 Terrapin Drive, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his residence.Born in Albion, Indiana on May 20, 1922, Mr. Knox was a son of the late Harry C. Knox and Irene Mae Nowels Knox. He was a United States Army Air Force veteran having served in World War II. He was captured by the Japanese and sent on the Bataan Death March. He was a P.O.W. for 40 months. He was awarded three Presidential Citations, a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and other medals and honors. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in South Carolina and Indiana, Moose Lodge #1175, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a life-member of the American Legion Post #121, Williamston, SC, the V.F.W. Post # 673, The American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor, and the American Ex Prisoners of War. Survivors include sons, Kendall Knox and Bradley Knox; sisters, Alice Deville of Anderson and Evelyn Baker of Albion, IN and five grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Charlie, Bob and Jim Knox.A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion Post #121, 1610 Anderson Drive, Williamston, SC on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 5:00 pm. Interment of his ashes will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.The family will be at their respective homes.Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O.
