OBITUARY WITH FLAG Ladson, SC Ralph Curtis 'Chuck' MoatsApril 15, 1953 - May 26, 2007 Ralph 'Chuck' Moats, 54, of 100 Venezia Court, Ladson, SC, died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Charleston. Born in Anderson, SC on April 15, 1953, Mr. Moats was a United States Army veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a professional racecar driver and enjoyed golfing. Surviving are his beloved wife Debbie Wheeler Moats of Baltimore, MD; a son, Rodney Moats and his wife Kimberly of Charleston, SC; a daughter, Crystal Moats of Baltimore, Maryland; mother Edith Moats Burgess and stepfather, Harrison, of Williamston, SC; three grandchildren, Sabrina, Brendon, and Tristan Moats; three sisters, Mildred Bell of Anderson, SC, Diane Thrasher of Belton, SC, and Jackie Sharpe of Ladson, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis H. Moats. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Smith officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere love and appreciation to Chuck's sister Jackie for her constant care and devotion for her brother. The family will be at the home of his mother, 101 Center Street, Williamston, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center VA, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401, in memory of Ralph 'Chuck' Moats.
