He was a United States Army World War II veteran. He attended White Plains High School and was a graduate of the Carolina School of Commerce. He was the owner and operator of Ralph Whitt Carpets for many years. Mr. Whitt was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church, where he was presently the Sunday School Director and served as a past Deacon.Survivors include his wife, Mildred James Whitt of the home; daughter, Pamela Whitt of Anderson and Kimberly Whitt Ard and her husband, Emerson and their children, Whitney, Kristen and Miles, of Myrtle Beach, SC.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Mack Tester.
