Ray Fortescue Anderson, SC Ray Paul Fortescue, age 71, passed away on July 17, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Abbeville County, SC, he was the son of the late William Thomas Fortescue and the late Victoria Mae Monroe Fortescue. He loved fishing and going to the Jockey Lot. He was of the Baptist faith. Ray is survived by his wife, Margaret Fortescue; three brothers, Tom Fortescue, of Live Oak, FL, Bobby Fortescue, of Abbeville, SC and Johnny Fortescue, of Abbeville, SC; and three sisters, Sara Smith, of Morrow, GA, Margie Green, of KY, and Louise Tiller, of Iva, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Payne, Helen Carter, and Faye Luker; and two brothers, William Andrew Fortescue and Harold Eugene Fortescue. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. with Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of his sister, Louise, 120 Haynie Avenue, Iva, SC 29655. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
