Charles Ray Milford, age 78, of Anderson, SC passed away at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. He was surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born in Belton, SC, he was the son of Calvin Todd Milford and Inez Jennings Milford. Mr. Milford served his country in the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner of several construction companies and restaurants. He also served on the school board of Faith Christian Academy. Mr. Milford was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former member of Temple Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, always bringing a smile to others and making everyone laugh. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Sue Ellen Cater Milford of the home; seven children, Johnna Pittman (Scott) of Piedmont, SC, Beverly Sullivan (Dwayne) of Anderson, Lisa Milford of Anderson, Dee Beebe (Randy) of Anderson, Scott Milford (Mandy) of Anderson, Billy Milford (Lori) of Anderson and Rayn Hale (Shane) of Anderson; eleven grandchildren, Brandy, Michael, Justin, Wendy, Austin, Jared, Cody, Drew, Jordan, Logan and Ragan; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Bryson; one sister, Erlene Culbertson of Belton. Mr. Milford was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Milford. The family would also like to thank Mr. Milford's caregivers, Dr. Kopp, Jackie, Allan, Kathleen and Victoria. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Milford will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 1:30PM at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Taylor and Rev. Robbie Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6PM until 8PM. The family will be at the residence. Flowers are optional.
