Ray Edward Wilbanks, age 72, of Iva, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his home.

Born June 8, 1952, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Cecil L. Wilbanks and Dorothy Rice Wilbanks. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dale Wilbanks and a sister, Carol Wilbanks Gillespie.

Ray was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane, of 51 years. He was a kind man who loved others and was loved by many. He was a devout Christian who faithfully loved his Lord and family. Ray served his church as the Senior Adult Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a Mason, a farmer known for raising beef cows, and an avid hunter. He took many kids under his wings and taught them how to farm, weld and keep Christ in their lives. He leaves behind the legacy of a Christ-like servant and teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Wilbanks; a brother, Tommy Wilbanks (Terri) of Omaha, NE and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home.
