January 30, 1933 - August 10, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Raymond Cecil Hanks, Sr., age 74 of 1306-B Oakhill Drive, husband of Janelle W. Hanks, died peacefully at his home on Friday, August 10, 2007.Born January 30, 1933 in Anderson, SC, he was the owner and operator of Rolling Hills Investments. Mr. Hanks was a member of The Carpenter's Church where he attended until his illness. He was very much loved and respected through out the community and he will be missed by his family and many friends.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janelle of the home; daughter, Deborah H. Gambrell and her husband, Ronnie; son, Raymond C. Hanks, Jr., and his wife, Robyn; four grandchildren, Jill Gambrell Hutchins and her husband, Chad, Amy Hanks Eskew, Raymond C. Hanks III 'Trey' and his wife Morrise and Rhett C. Hanks; three great-grandchildren, Anna Eskew, Rockford Hutchins and Raymond C. Hanks IV 'Troy'; mother-in-law, Jessie S. Ware, sister, Juanita Minyard and daughter-in-law, Donna R. Hanks. The family would like to thank his cousin and caregiver, Delbert McCurry, Jr.He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and a great-granddaughter, Baily Lou Hanks. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Gautreaux and Layman Harry Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Anderson.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.Flowers are optional.
