MANNING February 3, 1915 - August 16, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Reba Azalee Burriss Manning, age 93, longtime resident of 509 North Street, wife of the late David L. Manning, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Iva, SC on February 3, 1915, Mrs. Manning was a daughter of the late John G. Burriss and Elizabeth Wansley Burriss. She retired from J. C. Penney Company and Anderson School District No. 5. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson.Survivors include her daughter, Barbara M. Garrison and her husband, Glenn; son, William David Manning, all of Anderson; three grandchildren, Will, Gregg and Chris Garrison and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Grant and Haley Garrison.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Albert, Jim and Charlie Burriss and sisters, Margaret B. Edwards, Maymie B. McCullough, Annie B. Cleveland, Nettie B. Rainey and Lila B. Shade. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Dr. James R. Thomason, Reverend Leroy Hayes and Reverend Jerry Hayes. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 18, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her daughter, 1834 Denver Road, Anderson, SC.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or St. John's Heritage Fund, 515 S.
