The McDougald Funeral Home2211 North Main StreetAnderson, SC 29621864-224-4343OBITUARY REBECCA LANGFORD January 30, 1935 - June 14, 2009ANDERSON, SCRebecca Strickland Langford, age 74, of 311 Simpson Road and formerly of 205 Sears Street, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Trion, GA on January 30, 1935, Mrs. Langford was the wife of the late Edward Rueben Langford and a daughter of the late A. A. Strickland and Alice Lambert Strickland. She retired from Clark-Schwebel and was a volunteer with Hospice of the Upstate for eight years. She was also a literacy tutor and a member of the Church of the First Born.Survivors include a son, Richard E. Langford and his wife, Marsha F.; daughters, Geneva Langford-Peklo of Pensacola, FL, Alice Langford-Maness and her husband Jason K. of Myrtle Beach, SC; foster children, Patty Price of Anderson and Marie Brandsdorfer of Holly Springs, NC; four grandchildren, Geoff Barker of Arizona, Rue Connolly of Myrtle Beach, Chip Langford of Anderson and Darren Connolly of Myrtle Beach and two great-grandchildren, William Barker and Mina Barker of Arizona.She was predeceased by her parents and husband; son, Edward E. Langford, Jr.; brother, Rev. Arthur A. Strickland; sisters, Mary Ruth Scott, Minnie Bell Jordan Lawson and Geneva Lillian Strickland. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:30 am at New Silver Brook Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Dr. Mitch Brooks.
