REBECCA TRUXAL LOUDEN September 19, 1915 - April 3, 2006ANDERSON, SCRebecca Truxal Louden, 2312 Cobbs Way, Anderson, wife of the late Colonel Edward K. Louden, (U.S.A.F.Ret.) and former Vice President and General Manager of Scholastic, Inc., National Distribution Center, Jefferson City, MO, died Monday, April 3, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.During their Air Force career, Mrs. Louden was active in Red Cross work and Officers Wives Club projects. At Cannon, A.F.B., Clovis, New Mexico, she established and taught an on-base kindergarten class. At Langley, A.F.B., Mrs. Louden organized the Family Services program. She taught at schools in Pennsylvania; Washington, DC; New Mexico; Virginia: and New Jersey.In Missouri, she served on the Board of Memorial Community Hospital, established the Nursing Education Scholarship program in conjunction with Lincoln University, was a volunteer guide at the Cole County Historical Society, and a Missouri Mansion Docent.Colonel and Mrs. Louden moved to Anderson, SC in 1986. She was a member of the Young Memorial ARP Church in Anderson.Survivors include: two daughters, Sandy L. Trimble and her husband, Stan and Drucie L. Horne and her husband, Rip, both of Anderson, four granddaughters, and four great grandsons. She was preceded in death by two brothers.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, April 6, 2006 from 7-8:30 pm. Services by the Rev. Dr. L. Thomas Richey will be held at Young Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 11:00 am.
