REGGIE O'NEAL April 29, 1936 - June 22, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Norman Reginald O'Neal, 76, husband of Barbara Faye Walters O'Neal, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at AnMed Health Center. Born in Millinocket, ME he was a son of the late Angus O'Neal and the late Lorencene Marquis O'Neal. After graduation from high school, Norm began his military career in the US Army as a private in 1954. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW-3) after 22 years of service. Among his many citations (56) were the awards of Distinguished Flying Cross, 3 Bronze Stars, 3 Commendation Medals and 36 Air Medals. Norm also survived being shot down on one occasion. He was a Life Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #81, Roanoke, VA, and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Retired Officers Association. Norman is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; daughter, Alicia G. Richey of Anderson; son, Richard R. O'Neal and his wife Cynthia of Honea Path; brother, Rodney O'Neal and his wife Joan of Brandon, MS; sister, Shirley Wise and her husband Chris of Hanover, MA; grandchildren, Christopher Kennedy and Ryan Stillman and Ryan's wife Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Kris, and Madelyn Stillman. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. The family will be at the home.
