Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of René DeMoy who departed this life on September 14, 2025, at the age of 90.

Mr. DeMoy is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Clarie DeMoy, and his loving family: his children and their spouses, RoseMarie and Sunny Lee, Brian DeMoy and Jennifer Dumas, and grandchildren, Brandon, Alex, Caitlin, and Decker.

René, a devoted husband, father, artist, and jack of all trades, was born on February 24, 1935, in Morristown, New Jersey to the late John Francis DeMoy and Bertha Stevens DeMoy. From the age of 3 to 17, he grew up on a farm on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, living through the German Occupation. At 17, he moved back to the United States and, at 18, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, René remained a devoted and loving citizen of his country. René loved his family and friends with all his heart and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Odette Vautier.

A committal service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 6, 2025 at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson SC 29621 with Pastor Tomas Nyblom officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
