REVEREND L. ROY ALLEN SEPTEMBER 22, 1917 - JANUARY 18, 2013 Reverend L. Roy Allen, age 95, husband of the late Mildred Holtzclaw Allen, ascended to his heavenly home on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Allen and the late Elsie Mae Ivester Allen. Rev. Allen had been a pastor for the Pentecostal Holiness Church since 1943, having retired in 1989. He had pastored for Clinton PHC, Piedmont PHC, Wellington PHC, Greer PHC, Long Branch PHC, Greenwood PHC, Grendal PHC, and Friendship PHC. He was a member of Wellington PHC and was currently attending North Anderson PHC. Reverend Allen was the oldest living pastor in the Upper S.C. Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by his son, Danny Allen of the home; sisters, Juanita Atkins of Rock Hill, Jeanette Fant of Belton. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marion, Garvin and Ralph Allen; one sister, Betty Jones. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 3:00 pm, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Reverend J. Floyd Stansell, Jr., Reverend Ray Boggs and Reverend Jordan Evans officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence, and will receive friends on Monday, January 21, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home, prior to the service.
