Obituary

Rev. Cecil Eugene Campbell, beloved husband of Nellie C. Campbell, a true servant of God born in Trion, GA, entered into his Heavenly Home on the Sabbath Day, September 17, 2017, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Mr. Campbell was well loved by all who knew him. He has left a legacy of the beauty of faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His family members will draw strength from his lifelong demonstration of faithfulness to his family and ministry. He has devoted sixty-five years ministering the gospel as a church pastor, Overseer Bishop in the Church of God in the states of Hawaii and Oklahoma. He also served as Missions Director and of Youth and Christian Education in Colorado. After retirement, he served as Seniors Ministry Director at the Buford Church of God in Buford, GA for over five years. At present his church membership is at High Praises Church of God in Anderson, SC, where he served as Seniors Ministry Director from 2006 through 2008. After the home going of his beloved wife Jimmi of fifty-three years, he continued serving at the High Praises Church of God as a member of the choir and leading Grief Share, a grief support ministry. His life was refreshed again when he found new love and enjoyed a wonderful life for five years with his beautiful bride Nellie whom he adored and treated like a princess. Their love for each other was evident to all who met them. In addition to his wife, Nellie, Rev. Campbell is survived by his children, Ron S. Campbell of Roswell, GA, Denita S. Humphries of Anderson, Gina D. Stephens and husband George of Kissimmee, FL; a step-son, David Cobb and wife Beth of Anderson; grandchildren, Allison Hardy Owens and husband Stacey of Simpsonville, SC, Emily Hardy Schneider and husband Damon of St. Marys, GA, Jason M. Stephens and wife Jessica of St. Cloud, FL, Christiana Donellan and husband Steven of Auburn, GA, Zachary K. Campbell of Roswell, GA, Mattie Cobb of Anderson, and twins, Sam and Will Cobb of Anderson; great-grandchildren Cassidy A. Hardy of Anderson, Collin W., Owens of Simpsonville, SC, Cailey A. Owens of Simpsonville, SC, Logan Altizer of St. Cloud, FL, Ava F. Schneider of St. Marys, GA, Kyle Donellan of Auburn, GA, Layla Donellan of Auburn, GA, Dawson R. Schneider of St. Marys, GA, Kayden Stephens of St. Cloud, FL, and Lexie Stephens of St. Cloud, FL. Rev. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Zora Aiken Campbell, and his first wife of fifty-three years, Jimmi Nell Kellett Campbell. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have looked to him as their "Rock." He is the foundation for spiritual growth that cannot be shaken and his impact on the lives of each family member and beloved friends will never be forgotten. He was easy to love and loved each one completely. He has left a legacy of faith and love that will never be forgotten. The Service of Worship and Praise honoring and celebrating the life of Rev. Campbell will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at High Praises Church. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
