Obituary

Reverend Charley "Chucky" Wilson Chandler II, age 52, of Pendleton, South Carolina, was called to Glory on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Chucky was born on April 21, 1972, in Florence County, South Carolina. He was the son of Charley Wilson and Ruth Reynolds Chandler and Reverend Jimmy Wayne and Lois Brinson Crosby.

He grew up in Florence, South Carolina, and attended Wilson High School, graduating in 1990.

As a dedicated and passionate servant of the Lord, Chucky began his evangelistic and youth ministries in the Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP) in 1995. Over the next 20 years, he served as a SC COGOP state evangelist, SC COGOP State Youth Director, Associate Pastor of Carolina Heights COGOP, and a youth camp director. For over two decades, he spread the Gospel in revivals, youth conferences, and youth camps across the United States and abroad in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico.

In 2014, Chucky's pastoral ministry began at East Clemson Christian Fellowship, where he served as the lead pastor until his passing. He spent his last day as he had many before—at church, preaching the Gospel, worshiping his Heavenly Father, and fellowshipping with his church family.

Chucky had a God-given talent for making everyone he met feel loved and included. Because of this, he leaves behind a multitude of family and friends. Surviving are his mother, Lois Crosby; sister, Renee Spivey; sister, Michelle (Jay) Hardy; brother, John Wayne (Jennifer) Crosby; nephew, Ricky (Erica) Lisbon; niece, Detria Lisbon; niece, Alyssa (Reynolds) Moore; niece, Erynn (Andrew) Hardy-Lark; niece, Hannah Rose Crosby; niece, Hadynn Crosby; nephew, Tayvin Allen; niece, Torianna "Rosie" Allen; several great-nieces and nephews, "his girls," and a number of lifelong friends he called family.

He joined the family circle in his heavenly home alongside his parents, Charley Wilson and Ruth Reynolds Chandler, his father, Reverend Jimmy Wayne Crosby, and his sister, Crystal Lynn Chandler Lisbon. His heavenly homecoming was undoubtedly celebrated by countless loved ones.

As a beloved mentor, comforter, and friend, Chucky's earthly absence is deeply felt by all who loved him. However, we find peace in knowing he fought the good fight, finished his race, and above all, kept the faith. He left this world in love with Jesus and in love with the Church.

The funeral service be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12:00 pm at East Clemson Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Outreach, c/o East Clemson Christian Fellowship, 520 Issaqueena Trail, Clemson, SC 29631.
