Reverend Deborah Ann White Broadwell, age 73, wife of John Walter Broadwell, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Born November 16, 1951, in Americus, GA, she was the daughter of the late James M. White and Martha White. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tony White, and her beloved pug, Molly.
Deborah attended Georgia Southwestern University, graduated from Anderson University and Erskine Theological Seminary. She had two major careers: 20 years as a production planner/office manager at Blair Mills in Belton and later as an ordained Presbyterian minister, serving Honea Path Presbyterian Church for over 16 years until her retirement in 2024.
Deborah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her daughters, grandchildren, and Molly the pug were the loves of her life. She enjoyed traveling, visiting over 40 states, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and several countries overseas including Israel, Palestine, Syria, Greece, Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Italy, Belgium, and Holland.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Amy Partain (Doug) and Carrie Radford (Yon); grandchildren, Paige Partain, John Douglas Partain, Sidney Blasco, and Conner Blasco, all of Anderson. She is also survived by her brothers, Jim White of Thomaston, GA, Robert White of Americus, GA, and cousin, Sharla Funk of Illinois.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Honea Path Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Nickles and Rev. Debbie Foster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honea Path Presbyterian Church (Honea Path, SC), Bethesda Methodist (Hartwell, GA), Hospice of the Upstate, or a charity of one's choice.
