REV. CHARLES RANDY FLEMING January 7, 1933 - June 16, 2012 Rev. Charles Randy Fleming, age 79, of 104 Coachman Court, Anderson, peacefully departed this life for his heavenly home on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Born in Anderson County, he was son of the late Charles Frank Fleming and the late Sara Latham Fleming Gray. He was the step-son of the late Bill Gray. Rev. Fleming was the devoted and faithful husband of Mildred Duffell Fleming to whom he was married for 59 years. Rev. Fleming was a 1951 graduate of Iva High School where he was an accomplished athlete who lettered in several sports. He attended Newberry College prior to serving his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served aboard the USS President Jackson and the USS Pickaway. He then worked at Owen Corning Fiberglass for 16 years, when he left to pursue the Gospel Ministry. He is a member of the Upper South Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, and at the time of his death, served as pastor of the Williamston PH Church. Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred, of the home. He didn't have any children of his own, but he was blessed with a godson, Noah Nixon of Anderson who was very special to him. He was devoted to several nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved dearly. Funeral Services celebrating the life of Rev. Randy Fleming will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 2 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Bishop Ray Boggs and Rev. Dick Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be at the home of Frank and Grace Nixon, 127 Taylors Trail, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, June 18, from 6 PM until 8 PM. The family suggests contributions in memory of Rev. Fleming be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
