Reverend James Carroll Plemmons, 83, of Belton, SC, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at AnMed Health Center. Born April 20, 1940, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was a son of the late Birtie Wilbur Plemmons and the late Hazel Jane Pearson Plemmons. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Addie Elizabeth Sloan Plemmons in April 2021, and brother William Plemmons. Rev. Plemmons was a retired southern Baptist minister and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Furman University and Southwestern Theological Seminary with a master's in divinity. He was a man of divine wisdom and a fearsome prayer warrior. Just as the Savior he served, he saw the good in everybody and everything. He never missed an opportunity to share his salvation and wanted everyone to know the unconditional love of the Lord. He loved his family, reading the Bible, gospel music, gardening and visiting with friends. He considered everyone as his "good" friend. There is no doubt that he is now skipping down the streets of gold, hugging, laughing and praising God. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Beth Fisher (Andy) of Belton, SC; and grandchildren, Bryar Fisher (Erica) and Pearson Fisher (Amber). The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bethany Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held Thursday August 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Evans, Rev. Mike Bearden, and Rev. Tim Edmonds officiating.
