Rev. Fred J.C. "Tab" Scarborough, 88, of Belton, SC, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born July 30, 1932, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Sam Bunyon Scarborough and the late Lona Mae Wright Scarborough. He served as the Pastor at Faith Baptist Church of Honea Path, SC, for 40 years, and also worked as a shipping supervisor for Owens Corning for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Moore Scarborough, of the home, married for seven years; daughters, Sherrie Robin Wooten (Jimmy), and Karen Dawn Whitten (Danny), both of Pelzer, SC; three grandchildren, Jessica McBride, Jonathan Whitten, and Jena Miller; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Joanne Chapman Scarborough, to whom he was married to for 57 years; son, Brad Scarborough; and daughter, Kelly Scarborough. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Johnny Scarborough; and another brother, J.P. Wright; and sisters, Elva Lou Bannister, Shelby Isom, Alice Cleveland, and Francis Keith. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Friday, January 8, 2021, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. During this time on Friday, the family will not be present. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Temple. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Moore, Rev. Sam Duncan, and Pastor Travis King officiating. Social distancing will be observed. The service will be available to view via livestream on the funeral home Facebook page. Burial will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Karen and Danny Whitten, 311 Looper Rd., Pelzer, SC 29669.
