Reverend William "Edward" Watt. Age 75, of Iva, SC went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Ann of 54 years, and the following children, grandchildren and great-grandchild whom he dearly loved: Pam Watt(Anderson) Byron and Renee Brown (Townville), Keith and Tonya Burriss (Iva), Chad and Lindsey Watt (Starr) , Austin Watt and Brennan Brewster (Iva), Breanna and Austin Rivera (Greenville), Dwight Watt(Anderson) , Christine McCollum (Iva), Easton McCollum (Iva), Meredith Watt (Starr), Madison Watt (Starr), Essie Rivera (Greenville) He was also survived by his sister, Margaret Mayfield (Anderson) and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Sadly, Edward was preceded in death by his first born son, William "Dewayne" Watt, and both parents, Joseph Lonnie Watt and Essie Rogers Watt; and many brothers and sisters. Edward was a loving husband, daddy, Papa and friend to all.
He was the loving and faithful Pastor of Free Bible Holiness Church in Abbeville, SC for over 40 years. His love for the Lord and the Church has never wavered. He loved carpentry and worked in building construction for 40 years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed cooking and reading. Edward was always here to help friends with carpentry projects or whatever else they needed him for.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Jimmy Watt. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Mausoleum Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm.
