ARTHUR JENNINGS CALHOON May 12, 1906 - April 16, 2008ANDERSON, SCArthur Jennings Calhoon, age 101 of 401 McNeil Drive, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at his residence.Arthur was the second of eight children born to Ina Crosby and George Wilbur Calhoon on May 12, 1906 in the Wesleyan Methodist Church parsonage in Africa, Delaware County, Ohio. He earned the BA Degree from Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan University) and the Master's Degree from New York University. In 1930, he pastored a small church in South Dakota. While there, he met and married nurse Alice White and their lives were spent in various ministries; as pastors, evangelist, then as missionaries in India, Haiti and Australia. After his retirement, he continued ministering to Haitians in the United States and to other retired missionaries. Soon after their 62nd Anniversary, Alice preceded him to Heaven. Later he married Sarah Short who also predeceased him. Survivors are sister, Zenabelle Phillippe of Brooksville, FL; daughter, Ruth Faulkenberry and husband, Paul of Anderson, SC; son, Dr. John Calhoon and wife, Joby of Indianapolis, IN; step-son, Dr. Welland Short and wife, Carolyn of Wichita, KS; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters and 4 step- great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Mark Griffith. Interment will be held in Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville, Florida on Saturday, April 26, 2008.The family will be at the residence.Memorials may be made to Global Partners ' Haiti, The Wesleyan Church, P.O.
