REVEREND JACK HAYES, SR. November 4, 1936 - November 21, 2012 BELTON, SC Reverend Jackie Alonzo Hayes, Sr, a precious husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, carpenter, and ordained minister went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. He was, and will forever, be loved by his family and many friends. Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Alonzo Bryant Hayes and the late Annie Mae McGill Hayes. He was a graduate of Starr High School. He was a Pastor and Evangelist, serving in many churches around the state of South Carolina and New York. He was a residential and commercial contractor for many years, having built many homes, churches and schools. Reverend Hayes was most recently attending Bethany World Outreach in Honea Path, SC. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Keown Hayes, of the home; his six children, Deborah Patterson and her husband Gary of Anderson, SC, Judy Buchanan and her husband John of Anderson, SC, Theresa Knight and her husband Rickey of Honea Path, SC, Jack Hayes, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Belton, Daniel Lee Hayes and his wife Susan of Knoxville, TN and Phillip Bryant Hayes and his wife Tamara of Anderson, SC; a brother, Joe Frank Hayes, Sr. of Travelers Rest, SC; a sister, Bertha Ariail of Columbia, SC; and 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Abner, Donald and James Hayes and two sisters, Madge Merritt and Frances McMahan. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Crossroads Fellowship Church, 7832 South Carolina Hwy 20, Honea Path, SC 29654, with Reverends Rickey Knight, Theresa Knight, Joe Hayes, Jr., David Hayes and Mr. Thomas Chapman officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
