LEOPARDJULY 27, 1918 - JanUARY 11, 2011 ANDERSON, SC ' The Reverend Dr. Coley Livingston Leopard, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at his home in Anderson, 509 Walden Parkway.Born July 27, 1918, in Aiken, SC, he was a son of the late Edward D. Leopard and Gertrude Mills Leopard. Dr. Leopard graduated Valedictorian from the Richmond Academy, and with honors from Augusta Junior College, Furman University, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a retired Baptist minister as well as former Administrator to the Ministries of the Elderly ' a division under the auspices of the Georgia Baptist Convention. His pastorates included Dearing Baptist, Dearing, GA, Redd Branch Baptist in Aiken, SC, Silver Run Baptist, Harlem, GA, Glencoe Baptist, Glencoe, KY, First Baptist of Florence, KY, First Baptist of Swainsboro, GA, First Baptist of Americus, GA, and First Baptist of Toccoa, GA. Dr. Leopard was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Anderson.Survivors include his wife, Melita Tate Leopard of the home; three sons: Stan Leopard of Mill Valley, CA, Dale Leopard and wife, Naomi of Indian Wells, CA, and Joel Leopard of Anderson, SC, but currently serving in the US Army in Iraq; six grandchildren: Jeff of Palm Desert, CA, Jana and husband, Joey of Vista, CA, Arianna of Solvang, CA, Sazi of Santa Barbara, CA, Morgaine and Alexander, both of Mill Valley, CA; great grandchild, Aiden of Vista, CA; sisters: Nettie DeLoach of Martinez, GA, and Dorothy Conrad and husband, Roy of Taylorsville, KY; a brother, Edward D. Leopard of Key West, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of thirty years, Virginia Anderson Leopard; and five brothers and sisters.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Concord Baptist Church, Anderson, SC. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA.
