The McDougald Funeral Home2211 North Main StreetAnderson, South Carolina 29621864-224-4343OBITUARYREVEREND GUY OVERCASHDECEMBER 15, 1929 - SeptEMBER 2, 2009 ANDERSON, SC ' Reverend Guy Overcash, age 79, husband of the late Jo Ann Williams Overcash, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson, SC, on December 15, 1929, he was a retired Baptist Minister having served Anderson County for fifty years. During his ministry, he served Triangle Baptist Church in Belton for four years, LaFrance First Baptist Church in LaFrance for thirty-six years, and ten years of serving various congregations as an Interim Minister. He was a graduate of Anderson Boys' High School and was further educated by receiving an A.A. degree from Anderson College, a B.A. and M.D. from Furman University, an M.O.B. from the Seminary of Erskine College, and was a graduate for the Chandler Theological Seminary. Reverend Overcash was a lifetime member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge, was a Shriner, and member of the Woodman of the World. In addition, he served as a Chaplain on a Billy Graham Crusade as well as serving on the Emory University Board of Chaplains. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.He is survived by his daughters: Mary Anne Parnell and husband, Randy Parnell of Belton, and Gladys Overcash of Laurens; and two grandchildren: Lindsey Anne Parnell of Anderson and James F. Hackett of Anderson.In addition to his wife; his mother, Icibelle Overcash Evans; a daughter, Diane Roberts; and a grandson, Guy A. Hackett, preceded him in death.The Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend R.L. 'Bob' Marcaurelle.
