REV. RALPH W. PITTS July 20, 1927 - August 20, 2013 Rev. Ralph W. Pitts, age 86, of 202 Park Road, Belton, went to be with the Lord upon his death on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Rainey Hospice House. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Easley, he was the son of the late William Z. Pitts and the late Viola Hinton Pitts. Rev. Pitts was a servant of the Lord, and was a devoted minister within the Church of God, and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was first married to the late Willa Mae Watson Pitts until her death. He later married Ollie H. Pitts of the home. Ralph was a graduate of the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, TN. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Over his 48 year ministry, Rev. Pitts served numerous churches throughout South Carolina. Earlier in his life, he was also employed at the J.P. Stevens Company, Appleton Plant. He was a faithful member of the Belton Church of God. In addition to his wife, Ollie Hogg Pitts of the residence, he is survived by 3 sons, Rev. Winfred Pitts and wife, Patsy, of Blairsville, GA, Rev. Leland Pitts and wife, Jan, of Iva, and Dale S. Pitts and wife, Ramona, of Williamston; 1 daughter, Janice Barrett and husband, Lloyd, of Starr; a step-son, Richard Hogg and wife, Janice, of Anderson; 2 step-daughters, Lynn Lloyd and husband, Randy, of Belton, and Rhoda Haskins and husband, Kevin, of Anderson; 1 brother, Rev. John Pitts and wife, Audrey, of Greer; 5 sisters, Rachel Neal of Pelham, Marilyn Cooper of Pickens, Helen Hendrix and husband, John, of Pickens, Bertha McCall and husband, Danny, of Pickens, and Jennie Phillips and husband, Randy, of Easley; also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents and his first wife, Willa Mae, Ralph was preceded in death by grandchildren, Steven and Christopher Pitts; 4 sisters, Ola Fay Simmons, Jessie Mae Neal, Mildred Middleton, and Louise Pitts; and 3 brothers, Earl Pitts, Jack Pitts and James Hinton. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Rev. Ralph W. Pitts will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013, at 11 AM at the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Norman Black and Rev. Paul Herring officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22, 2013, from 6 PM until 8 PM. Contributions in memory of Rev. Ralph W.
