Reverend David Gordon Taylor, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Fellowship Health and Rehab. Born in Greenville, SC, on August 20, 1935 he was the son of the late David Taylor and the late Victoria Hunter Taylor. He was a 1953 graduate of Parker High School and attended Temple Bible College, Bob Jones and Furman University. He retired from First Baptist Church of Aynor, SC in 1998, and was the founder of Good Sheppard Sunday School Ministries. Reverend Gordon also taught at the Langston Bible Institute in Conway, SC. He and his family moved to Anderson in 2000 where he was the Associate Pastor of Temple Baptist Church for many years. Gordon was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Crowe Taylor; a son, Mark Taylor and his wife Becky, and their children Victoria Taylor, Nickolas Taylor and Grayson Taylor, all of Braselton, GA; and a brother, Glenn Taylor and his wife Ann of Greenville, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Taylor. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. David Blizzard, and Reverend Ronald Presley officiating. A committal service honoring the life of Reverend Gordon Taylor will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Graceland West Cemetery in Greenville, SC.
