RICHARD L. DELORME April 7, 1933 - July 26, 2013 Richard Leo Delorme, age 80, of 201 Towhee Trail, Anderson, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville on Friday, July 26, 2013. Born in Saginaw, MI, he was the son of Ruth Gould Smecki of Manistique, MI, and the late Arthur Delorme. He was the loving and devoted husband of Kathleen Rosa Delorme of the residence. Mr. Delorme earned a Master's Degree in Business Management after receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering at the University of Detroit. He served as an engineer for several companies including Chrysler Motors. He ultimately retired from Square D in Seneca. Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was a Past Grand Knight. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, Mr. Delorme is survived by 2 sons, Peter John Delorme and Richard Michael Delorme, both of Anderson; 2 daughters, Jeane Marie Combs and husband, Matt, of Nashville, TN, and Suzanne Ruth Avenall and husband, John, of Anderson; 3 brothers, Donald Delorme and wife, Kay, of Melbourne, FL, Edward Delorme and wife, Sue, of Guntersville, AL, and Jim Lovay and wife, Susan of Manistique, MI; 2 grandsons, Tyler Matthew Jernigan and Benjamin Charles Delorme; and 3 step grand-daughters, Melinda Gillespie, Ashleigh Jernigan, and Candice Avenall. In addition to his father, Mr. Delorme was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joy Roberts Delorme. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Richard Delorme will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 11 AM, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Deacon James Williams officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, August 10, 2013, from 9 AM until 10:30 AM. The family suggests memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Delorme be made to Knights of Columbus, 1668 Operation Hope Fund, 762 Mauldin Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
