Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.Born in Jonesville, SC, on December 2, 1921, he was a son of the late Culp Garner and Lillian Herron Garner. He served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the V.F.W., and a charter member of the Campbell Patriots Post 184. Mr. Garner retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas and was of the Baptist faith.Survivors include his daughters: Mrs. Angela Anderson and husband, Mr. Charles P. Anderson, of Anderson, Ms. Carolyn Barrs of St. Augustine, FL, Ms. Elaine Moats of Anderson, and Ms. Jeannie Gleason of Greenville; sister, Ms. Barbara Ann Nelson of Laurens; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Joe Garner, Mahlon Garner, and Bryson Garner.The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Jerry Parnell. Interment with Military Honors by Campbell Patriots Post 184 will follow in M.J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
