Richard "Jimmy" Gibbs, Jr., 83, of Anderson, SC passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born August 26, 1934, Jimmy was a son of the late Richard Andrew Gibbs and the late Macie Evelyn Gibbs. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and was a brick mason. Jimmy liked to refer to himself as "the world's best burnt clay artist" and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Smith Gibbs; son, Jay Gibbs (Jeanette) of Cumming, GA; daughter, Michelle McBride of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, Laurel Gibbs, Christian Gibbs (Victoria), Mariel Harlow, Erin Fredericks (Ben) and Michael McBride (Chantel) and great-grandchildren, Grant Fredericks, Clarke Fredericks and Elliott McBride. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm- 1:30 pm Thursday, March 1, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 2:00 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev.
