Richard Lane Greenway, age 23, of 108 Johnson Trail, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Palmetto Health in Columbia, SC. Born in Anderson on March 1, 1994, he was the son of Rick Greenway, of the home and Donna Walker Greenway of Charleston. Richard was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 2015, and was active in the Special Olympics. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Richard was truly Heaven's Special Child. He touched many lives in the short time he was here. He was God's creation with a purpose to bring joy and happiness to the lives of others each and every day. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The day will come when we will see him and his smile again. He is safe in the arms of Jesus. In addition to his parents, Richard is survived by two brothers, Patrick Greenway and Matthew Greenway, both of Anderson. Richard was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cotton and Peggy Greenway, and his maternal grandparents, William and Guynell Walker. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Richard Greenway will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Reverend Mark Dickson officiating. A private interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park prior to the service. The family will be at the home of an aunt and uncle, Lynn and Brian Bramlett, 5737 Hwy 29 S., Starr, SC, and they will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Richard may be made to Special Olympics Area 14, PO Box 1049, Anderson, SC 29622.
