Richard A. Heithaus passed away peacefully at his home on May 27th at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Born in Cincinnati, OH on July 26, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert E. Heithaus and the late Betty Stiens Heithaus. For forty-one years he was the beloved husband to Janet L. Heithaus. Following graduation from high school, Rick received his master's degree from General Motors Institute. He was a plant manager for General Motors, a position from which he retired after thirty-eight years of service. Rick was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was very active in the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer. In addition to his wife, Jan, Rick is survived by his five children: Beth Johnston and her husband, Heath, Jenny Reesman and her husband, Eric, Chris Heithaus and his wife, Samantha, Joey Heithaus and his wife, Crystal, and Tim Heithaus and his wife, Lauren; also surviving are fifteen grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Heithaus. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30th, at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m.. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Philip Gillespie officiating.
