Richard Paul LaPlante, age 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. Born July 8, 1942, in Webster, MA, he was the son of the late Lawrence Henry LaPlante and Elizabeth Cecilia Michalek LaPlante. He was married to Pauline Gobeille LaPlante until her death on January 15, 2022. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a district supervisor for McDonald's Corp. Northeast Region and restaurant entrepreneur. He is survived by his son, Jeffery Allen LaPlante of Mableton, GA; daughter, Denise Marie LaPlante Self of Greenville, SC; sister, Deborah Goodwin of Greenville, SC; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 am in the Chapel with Deacon Michael Thompson officiating. Mr. LaPlante's final resting place will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
