Richard B. 'Dick' Rumsey, age 90, died on July 25, 2009, in Anderson, SC.Mr. Rumsey was born on March 5, 1919, in Mainesburg, PA, a son of the late Walter B. Rumsey and Iva M. Rumsey. Mr. Rumsey was raised in Mansfield, PA, where he graduated from Mansfield High School. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II as a Bombardier-Navigator. He attended Syracuse University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in 1948. He was Comptroller with a Company in Niagra Falls, NY, before retiring in 1981. Mr. Rumsey attended the River of Life Church of God where he was active within the Young at Heart Senior Group.Survivors include his wife, Alma M. Rumsey of the home; a son, Dale Robert Rumsey and wife, Andrea of Anderson; one granddaughter, Brittany Rumsey of Anderson; two brothers, Jerald Rumsey and wife, Deanna of Mansfield, PA, and James Rumsey of Canton, PA; and two sisters: Lois Peters of Dallas, TX, and Audele Longley of Park Forest, IL.In addition to his parents, one brother, Murice Rumsey and one sister, Elizabeth Seelye, predeceased him.The Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, in the Remembrance Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum conducted by Dr. Stoney Abercrombie and Reverend Heinrich Scherz.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to River of Life Church of God, 601 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC 29624.A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.com.THE McDOUGALD FUNERAL HOME is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
