Vickery, age 59, of 307 Old Colony Court died on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the Hospice House.Mr. Vickery was born in Anderson on April 19, 1947 a son of the late Fred Gordon Vickery and Ollie Mae Pruitt Vickery. He retired from AnMed Health Medical Center as a Security Supervisor with over thirty years of service. He is a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Sgt. (E5) during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and was an absolutely dedicated Christian and Godly man with many friends. He found the key to Susan's heart and welcomed Amanda into his life. In addition to his wife, Susan Griffin Vickery, of the home, he is survived by a son, Russell Gordon Vickery of McCormick; daughters, Tonya Dawn Gibson of Pendleton, and Amanda Elisabeth Post of Anderson; three grandchildren also survive; sisters, Evelyn V. Kelly and her husband, Sonny of Starr and Dorothy M. Norris and her husband, Michael of Iva. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Swaney Vickery.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Gethsemane Baptist Temple with the Reverends Sam Duncan and Hudson White officiating. Interment will follow in Fants Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military honors.
